Creating patterns from mono printing

the other day, we did monoprinting as a class!

What is monoprinting?:

  • mono printing is where you get ink, and put it onto a screen and spread it with a roller. After this you can either draw onto it with something like the end of a paintbrush or pen, or you can put a piece of paper onto it and draw onto the paper. By doing these methods, you can create really good images from this.

After i did my monoprinting, i did some experiements, by collaging and drawing onto existing images.

(I cannot add images so see instagram)

I then created some patterns from these experiments, (which i have put onto instagram). I think these went well, as the patterns are seamless, and they flow really nicely. I think my favourite is the first pattern on the post:

I then developed this by editing the colour, to a more red tone, so that it related more to my theme, which is the human structure, so instead of it being grey, i had it more red so it seemed more like muscles or blood.
